Behind the Music
The closing track is about a person who is seen as a fool because they refuse imposed truths and choose to think for themselves. The lyrics explore the difference between wisdom, illusion, and self-deception. An important symbol is the open door: a person is not necessarily trapped, even if they live as a prisoner. The exit exists, but the decision to change must come from within.
This song speaks about resilience, trust, and inner strength in a hostile world. The “sheep among the wolves” are those who try to remain faithful to themselves, to their faith, and to their path, even when the world rejects or attacks them. The lyrics emphasize that hard times do not last forever, but strong people can survive even among wolves if they keep their faith, peace, and dignity.
This track deals with the human confrontation with consequences, suffering, downfall, and the question of how much pain a person must endure before awakening. The lyrics touch on death, life after death, the loneliness of the soul, and the need for divine forgiveness. Behind it all is a strong warning: turn toward truth before the pain becomes too great.
This song directly confronts death. The lyrics do not present death as the end, but as an unavoidable part of life and a transition. Death is shown as the only certainty that no one can escape, but also as a doorway into the continuation of existence. The song breaks the fear of death with the idea that life goes beyond the body and that death is not the final point of the journey.
One of the brighter and more grateful songs on the album. It speaks about life being present in every breath, and every breath being a gift. The lyrics emphasize gratitude, inner learning, the shortness of life, and the law of sowing and reaping. The song connects everyday breathing with spiritual awareness and the feeling that the Divine is present in everything around us.
The Roots
“Probably the most obvious reference, especially in the melodic guitar lines, Scandinavian melodic death metal feeling, modern metal approach, and the balance between aggression and melody.”
“These bands represent the more metalcore side of INMATE: heavy breakdowns, aggressive rhythm sections, powerful vocals, and strong live energy.”
“Not necessarily in the direct modern sound, but definitely in the sense of melody, twin-guitar harmonies, lead guitar lines, and epic songwriting foundations.”
“A good reference for the mix of melodic death metal, modern production, groove, and memorable choruses.”
