This song did not start with a riff. It started with a woman none of you have heard of. She plays small rooms to thirty or forty people, sings about a kinder world, packs her own gear and drives home. Nobody has put her on a poster. She has never treated that as a reason to stop, because she works from something most people never quite arrive at: you do not need a stadium to move somebody, you need one person to leave the room different than they came in. She is married to the man who wrote this song, and everything you are about to hear was built on how she lives.

What Janko brought us was not her portrait but a stranger built in her image — a woman two towns over with a boy at home, a girl who wants to know why her mother is always gone, a tank of gas she can't quite cover, and a corner-store job that vanished years ago. Everyone in her life offers the same well-meaning advice, and the song hands it to her without softening it: go and get yourself a real job. Her answer is the hinge the whole record turns on. She doesn't defend herself, doesn't apologise, doesn't produce a five-year plan. She calls herself queen of the underground and keeps driving. That title is worth precisely nothing to anybody but her, and it is the only thing holding the roof up.

A song like this dies the moment the voice singing it sounds like it's asking to be believed. Kati came in off the road and delivered it like a woman who had never once entertained the idea of being talked out of anything. Jure and Luka had already put the floor under it in a single morning, most of it first takes, and Matej built the whole thing around her voice in Ljubljana. By the second verse none of us in that control room had anything useful left to say. It had stopped belonging to us.

So this one is for whoever needs it tonight. The player, the painter, the teacher, the nurse, the parent doing the work nobody sees — anyone who has been gently informed that the thing they're pouring their life into isn't real enough to count. The song makes no promises and neither will we. It just refuses to put the guitar down.
